Send or accept a short request. Once accepted, you can message and arrange an interview with proposed times and a meeting link you paste.
No inbox flood
Students can only write to you after you have accepted, and a student can start a limited number of conversations a day.
Verification
Only real staff get in
Students are sharing their work with you, so we check who you are before you can see anything.
1. Sign in with your university email
Enter your name and institution. We use the email address to check that you belong to the institution.
2. We check that you are staff
The check looks for a staff page on your institution's own website that names you, and shows the same email address next to your name. No page, no automatic approval.
3. If it cannot be checked, a person decides
You are not blocked: your account waits for a manual review. You can set up your criteria while you wait.
4. Then you can look and write
Approved supervisors can browse matching students and send requests.
Student privacy
The rules that protect students, and keep you trusted
- Students opt in. A portfolio is private until the student turns it on.
- You see a limited view: first name and the initial of the surname, field, level, research interests, projects and skills. Never full name, email, citizenship, CV or grades.
- A student releases contact details to you personally, per item, and can take them back.
- Students can see which verified supervisors opened their portfolio.
- Matching never uses nationality or citizenship.
Messages are private to the two people in a conversation. Notification emails never contain a message, only that something is waiting. Either side can block or report.
Cost
Supervisor accounts are free while we get started
Students fund the platform through credits for the AI writing tools. If that ever changes for supervisors, you will be told before it does.
